The 2018 Wire & Wood Alpharetta Songwriters Festival

The free Wire & Wood Alpharetta Songwriters Festival takes place rain-or-shine Friday, October 12^th and Saturday, October 13^th at several indoor and outdoor venues in downtown Alpharetta, with performances going down from 5 to 10 PM both days.

Now in its sixth year, the Wire & Wood festival features both well-established artists as well as up-and-comers making a bold name for themselves through ace tune-smithing.

The 2018 Wire & Wood Lineup

The headliners for the 2018 festival include Robert Randolph & the Family Band, a soulful funk group helmed by the virtuosic pedal-steel guitar player and singer Randolph, who cut his musical teeth in church. Also on the bill is Justin Townes Earle, a skillful Americana songwriter and guitarist steeped in traditional country-blues and folk; his talent both calls to mind that of his father’s, Steve Earle, and very much sets him in a distinct mold.

Then there’s Hannah Thomas, the Sundogs, Dan Wilson, Cat Ridgeway, Jennifer Lynn Simpson, and a whole passel of other performers, bringing their rootsy, rocking sensibilities to Alpharetta’s downtown for an inspiring and singularly soundtracked fall weekend.

The Southeast Tourism Society labeled the Wire & Wood Alpharetta Songwriters Festival among the Top 20 Events in 2018, and without question this year’s lineup promises another outstanding edition of what’s emerged as one of the singular music events in Greater Atlanta.
