The Alpharetta Farmers Market: An Introduction

Established in 2006, the Alpharetta Farmers Market turns downtown Alpharetta into a celebration of thoughtfully grown and harvested food each and every Saturday between spring and autumn. You’ve got its outstanding spread of fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy and meat, flowers and herbs, preserves and baked goods, soaps and organic and candles, Southern eats and ice-cold lemonade to enjoy through October.

The market runs from 8:30 AM to 1 PM at the corner of Old Canton Street and Milton Avenue, just a couple of miles west of The Hotel at Avalon.

Farmers markets have certainly experienced a major renaissance and reimagining in recent years, but their appeal is refreshingly old-fashioned: the chance to buy food directly from the producers, cooks, and culinary artisans who grow, catch, or make it, and to swap recipes and small-talk with vendors and fellow shoppers alike. And it all goes down to the tune of live, local music! There aren’t many better ways to lock into the rhythms of a place than by perusing the bounty of its farms, fields, and waters and getting to know the folks who gather it, and that’s the experience awaiting you at the Alpharetta Farmers Market.

You can see a full list of this year’s Alpharetta Farmers Market vendors—from 4 Sons Seafood, Pearson Farm Peaches & Pecans, and Maple Milk Farm to On the Rocks Gourmet Jams, Choripan Sausage Co., and Bobbie Ruth’s Southern Style Bakery—right here.
